Congrats Ian & Kathryn!

Ian & Kathryn have been together for 5 years & they are ready to take the plung! To celebrate they hiked up MT. Hood & asked me to join them to make an album of their day for Ian's mom. The views were spectacular! Quite the good choice guys!

DERBY DAY!

In walking distance from our house is Mount Tabor park. Once a year magic happens and portlanders come out in full force on wheels to zoom down the windy inactive volcano. True imagination is seen here and these cars are WILD! The excitement is (unfortunately) may be watching some crashes at the end.

Little did we know we would be a part of a crash..it was scary..but everyone came out fine. Sitting on the sidelines with my eye on my camera a giant polar bear came at us, thank god sierra yelled "LOOK OUT!" because the polar bear went out of my focal range and I had NO clue is was coming right for us! We thought Maya was a goner, but her batman instinct kicked in and she got out unscathed!

THE COAST!

It was NOT an easy decision to leave NYC. I really did feel the most at home in the big apple...but the following is why the west won, I forgot sometimes on this trip with my parents that we live here, & even after they leave..dah we can drive back because the beach is only an hour & 1/2 from our house! Thanks Oregon for being so beautiful!

Sauvie Island!

We came here to check out the Lavender Farm and pick some fresh cherries when my family was visiting...BUT WE discovered a farm ( huge, as far as your eye can see) of pick your own everything. There is something to be said about picking your own food, it shouldn't be a novel idea BUT it is these days. Coming home to eat all the food you just picked seems to make the diner MUCH MORE enjoyable. IT was one dollar for a head of lettuce that lasted 3 meals and my favorite part was pick your own flowers!

EUGENE COUNTY FAIR!

Be afraid, be very afraid cuz the freaks will come out at this Country Fair..BUT DO NOT BE AFRAID TO go and eat your face off, listen to good music and shop for talented hand crafts. Kathryn introduced us to this kick butt fair..kinda like the Philly folk fest meets the land of the ewoks meets the Renaissance fair x's 200%. Every booth is hand-build wood tree houses and we ate & ate & ate yummy drinks and food ( mmmm avocado boats!) We saw an awesome Vaudeville show that was a spoof on sex in the city goes to the country, and we saw a magic show where the magician was just placed in the Guinness World Book of Records for having the fastest hands with playing cards ( whadda mouthful)----who knew?

Trillium Lake

I saw a postcard at walgreens, flipped it over & said where the heck is that? The next wknd we headed out to Trillium Lake..

We ventured out route 26 to Mount Hood/Timberline Lodge stopping off at REALLY GOOD vintage yard sales, I got a SWEET OWL candle for a buck. Then to eat lunch at the timberline lodge(HERE'S JOHNNYY!!!)... We were in shorts and kids where still snowboarding, a hot panting Lucy HIGHLY enjoyed being able to play in snow! The inside of this hotel is INSANE.

Then we hiked around the lake, I was happy to arrive at my postcard (teehee). Here we stumbled upon boardwalks going over mountain run-off streams with CRAZY weird lettuce, corn-on-cob looking flowers in the water. Here we encounter snow again..so crazy because we then went swimming! Next time when we go back I am getting a huge raft for sure and just going to float around all day. I thought about all my doggies & how much then would of loved this Day. (especially Milo, kim & colins doggie!)

Schuyler & Peter Made it Happen!

LOUISVILLE ROCKS!! WHO KNEW??? Where do I begin with the props to this couple for the most amazing destination wedding in the south. We started out at churchill downs ( I found out there why people DO stand in line at the OTB!), then off to the land of hand-made crystal and bourbon bottles as far as the eye can see at their rehearsal diner. Saturday, the wedding took place at her Aunts insanely decorated house that was something out of the movies! To top it off we all stayed at the most amazing pop art hotel, 21C.

Lots of love, lots of laughter and a very stress-free time. Thanks guys!
